I doubt your local speed shop is going to be able to get you a cam for your car. There is a decent selection of cams for the N/A 3800'* available through ZZP, INTENSE, PFYC, and 3800 Performance that will all work great depending on what your goals are. I would take a look at those sites instead of going to your local speed shop and getting nowhere.
ZZP'* site: www.zzperformance.com
INTENSE'* site: www.intense-racing.com
PFYC'* site: www.grandprixstore.com
3800 Performance'* site: www.3800performance.com

Cams are a big mod that "should" have some vital supporting mods. These include cold air intake or a fender well intake, decent flowing exhaust (headers or ported mani'*),aftermarket PCM, the usual properly gapped plugs and good wires. In addition to this its a MUST HAVE to put some 1.6 rollers in there, the proper strength springs (usually Comp Cams), oil restricted pushrods, and finally the cam itself. I'm not knowledgeable on the ZZP cams, but with the valvetrain mods I listed you would be fine with a stage 1 Intense cam.
Their sites are:
www.zzperformance.com
www.intense-racing.com
Before you rush out and even look at anything you must know that you have a '95, which is the first year of the L36 in the Bonnie and you have a hybrid OBD style computer. An aftermarket PCM from DHP or Intense is out of the question, so you will have to hunt for a custom burn. I'm not up to speed on the '95 L36 so defiently wait to see what others with that year chime in about. At first thought, a cam with the proper supporting mods seems doable on a '95, but I'm sure there is a snag along the way.

What a cam does is it has lobes on it, which the lifters ride on, that push the pushrods up, to push the rockers arms, which open the valves up. So by changing the cam you can alter when it opens, how fast it opens, and how far it opens the valves. This allows you to gain power because you are helping the engine breathe better.

I'm a big fan of ZZP'* GT1 cam. IMHO It is the most backed up n/a cam on the market. Multiple people have had success with it. A higherstall converter and gears aren't needed as much as other cams BUT will absolutely help.
I'm with ya on supporting mods. But from what i've gathered, roller rockers/OR pushrods aren't really necessary. I mean that'* what i've read so take it for what it'* worth. But i think i read somewhere that the stage 1 cam from intense suggests 1.7 roller rockers.
Every body is always hating on the hybrid pcm (j/k) but i really don't think it'* that bad. Theres now 2 options for aftermarket chips.
www.gmtuners.com that made a chip for Spiral with his ser1 to ser2 engine swap and I also have a chip from them. It requires a good amount of scantool data but only costs 40 bucks.
And now theres DHP which has a pretty good rep with other communitys and it'* 150 bucks.
