You need to flash the PCM for any changes to take effect, and you need to have the engine off to do that.
You do not need a EGR block off plate. Removing the codes will not do any good. That will not turn off the EGR. You need to go in to VCM editor then click on engine, then go to the general tab. There you will see EGR min IAT, It shoudl be at -40, change that to 284, save it, flash to the PCM and your set. No need to remove the EGR. Now it'* set to only turn on if the temp reaches 284*, and that will never happen.

Any time. We have a small but growing family of tuners here and would love to see this area become more active. Tuning is bar none, the best, most cost effective, long term investment you can make in your car. It'* also one of the very few MODs you can do that can have a return on investment.
