How hard would it be to do the exhaust work myself? I was under the car today replaceing my o2 sensor and my face was right under the downpipe and it got me a thinkin. I dont have a lift but with the car up on ramps i have plenty of room to work. If i did do anything i would probably replace everything from the downpipe down.

If you have a sawz all, youd be in good shape, all my exhaust is welded, but if you really wanted to you could cut out the cataylic converter and replace it with a highflow cat, you would need somes sleeves and some exhaust clamps, and for a muffler you should already have enough pipe to get to the new muffler (40 series flowmaster* same one they use on the camaros). You could put it all together with clamps and sleeves but I would personally have it welded, less worrying about the pipes falling off

I agree with having it welded. I'm not a fan of clamps. But I disagree with the 40 series flowmaster (way too loud, and we only have one or maybe 2 cars running them), and I disagree with replacing everything from the DP back. Your piping is mandrel-bent stainless steel, of excellent quality, and with the SSE, you got the 2.5" piping, not the 2.25 from the SE exhaust. Your L27 will never outflow the stock piping. Just replace the components.

Shattered...if you want to replace muffler, put the hacksaw away and cruise up to Project HQ aka...my place. I've got the correct exhaust cutting chain tool (From Napa...Kenn you should be able to sell a couple of them). A few seconds and almost no work the pipe is cut.

We slide the new one on and clamp for the time being...weld when you get a chance.

If we get it all clamped down how much would it cost at a shop to have it welded?

A 12 pack might take care of it...but you never know.
