any point in upgrading pcm?

right now all i have done performancewise is a cai. Is there any point in getting an intense pcm? what will i gain other than having revlimiter removed?

but is it worth it? will I notice it? any other more "stock" guys buy the pcm

I have mods but even stock it'* worth it. I purchased mine in August and I am very happy with it. The vehicle accelerates through the whole power band better, the shifts are smoother and depending on how hard you hit the gas shifts at different points. I don't know how your 96 did at 35 - 40 mph but my 2001 had a definite lag which is now gone.

If I ever sell my '01 I am keeping the Intense PCM with me so I'll have it if I ever get another Bonneville.

because i have stock rockers and camshafts im thinking i leave WOT shiftpoints alone..
is it ok to make it at 6200rpm ?

I think you need a cam or rockers to shift higher since youll be out of your powerband

This is a dyno of a L36 with 1.8/1.85 rockers, a Stage1 TB and a downpipe. Even with these mods, the powerband drops off at about 5200. So, you should probably have 5400/5500 shift points at a maximum. That way, after you shift, you'll be close to peak power.
I completely forget what the stock shift points are. If they are 5500 I think you should keep tthem.
