Scan tools work all time but much of the data we like to watch over we are mostly worried about @ WOT such as KR or AF or injector pulse width... But as a motor is at idle it'* exactly that idle there’* not a whole to be concerned about. I'm sure around here and maybe Club gp there is plenty of people would could give you tips and such about a swap.

Slightly off topic but from what I've read, GPs/GTPs attain Knock Retard much faster and easier than a Bonneville, despite teh same engine. So they need more supporting mods to eliminate the KR.

Where did you read this? If anything torque mgmt. on Bonnes is worse. Only downfall in terms of KR on a W-body compared to an H-body is the u-bend.

Myth number 653, sub-part D.

Other than an intercooler, there is no difference in aftermarket between them. And there are other ways around that one missing item.

in all honesty i'd rather have the S1, since the swap physicly would be easier, but i have found next to nothing regarding aftermarket support. where is it all hiding?

also, what are the other 652.75 myths. i'd like to read them over so i don't sound like a newb asshat.

For the most part anything you would want to buy for your motor from the aftermarket is there whether you have a S1 or S2. Although the S1 really doesn't have any intercoolers out there but like willwren said there are ways around that such as water injection.

Sully, you are way off base.

What do you want? Shift kits? Transgo 4T60E Jr.

Cams and rockers? Sold by Seriesoneperformance. Come out of the Holden crowd in Austrailia. Know what you want? Comp-cams will grind you one, perhaps even cheaper than the Aussies.

Ported TB'* and LIM'*? Superchargers? DIY with all the instructions here.

Fuel pumps? Walbro. Half a dozen of us have done it.

Underdrive WP pulley? S2 fits if you slightly modify your torque-axis mount.

Pulleys galore at www.pulleyboys.com

What are you looking for?

I've even designed a quasi-intercooler plate that I'm currently testing for thermal flux:

Adjustable shift modultators, Performance PCM'*, etc. It'* all out there.
