Heat soak
I had massive engine heat soak with the open cone intake I bought a few months ago. The engine temp goes to 220 at redlights. I went back to the stock box. I did remove the inner tube and cut out the inner airbox panel as well, and I'm running an AiRaid panel filter. I also used some left over DEI heat shield I had for the stock tube. Everything is a lot cooler now and runs better as well. How do you guys run those intakes in the summer and not kill the engine with heat?

Looks like that intake is from ebay. Your engine bay is set up different but is there anyway you can extend your pipe so its not to close to your engine? Might also want to try getting an IAT harness extender and put it closer to your filter. Your heatshield will probably take care of most of the problems.

lexan works good for a box as it is lightweight and easy to heat up and mold. I am thinking of putting in a box after I get my intake done this weekend.
