Default Is it worth messing with?

I have a 2002 Bonneville SE. Bought it used a year ago. I really like this car, but sometimes I long for a little more acceleration.
:?: My question to the group: Are the simple mods I can do to pick up a few horses, or would I be better off to save my pennies and snag an SSEi somewhere down the road?
Thanks.

There are some simple mods you can do such as K&N drop in filter, or even a CAI. You can crisp up the shifts with a shift kit. You could get into major mods such as a cam and headers but if your going to dump that much into it you might as well trade in your SE for an SSEi to take advantage of its supercharger...

Being its a 2002 I wouldn't do too much yet so you dont risk voiding your warranty. Even though its an SE you still have alot of power in that series II N/A. Theres alot you can do with that sweet car. Probably wouldn't take too much modding to get more power out of it.

Seriously, our NA L36'* have some serious potential. It'* really all about torque, and you're NOT lacking in that department at all.

Default Thanks

Seems to me the thing to do is hold on for a bit, resist the urge until the warranty is up. Once that happens, tinker with some K&N airflow stuff, if that'* not enough, start looking at an SSEi.
I do have another question, I notice that the SLE has dual exhaust whereas the SE does not. Since both the SLE and SE have the same powerplant, does anyone know what the dual exhaust does for the SLE performance? Just curious.
