with the mods you have you will probably not see any gains, if anything you might gain 2-5 hp but loose 2-5tq... these mods are not necessary without supporting mods like a cam or rockers, even then ported manifolds will work just as well with headers.. unless you want the headers for show purposes, just go with the ported mani'*.

On an otherwise stock engine, you may lose some low end torque with those headers. However, you will notice a significant gain, especially on the top end. I don't know any specific HP figures.

headers will help a lot on the top end as mentioned, good ones won't really sacrafice low end torque as much as others. An Intake, Headers, PCM, and Rockers will give you a nice setup.

Some sub $150 ported exhaust manifolds are probably your best bet. You can just bolt them right up and not worry about welding the header downpipe to your exhaust. The headers aren't really needed without much done to the engine.
But if you really want headers, then you should get the *&* headers. They have smaller primaries and should work the best on a n/a engine.

ok sounds good, wasn't too sure about the injectors anyway. The headers either,This spring however I am looking to do the pcm from intense, a fwi, complete tuneup, and some more exhaust work. I'd say since I am not looking to strip race, this will probably be enuff for me. It should give it a nice kick in the pants and thats really all I am after.
A couple of y'alls opinions on what I'm looking to do would rally mean a lot.
So holler back when you get the chance.

Exhaust wise, the manifolds are the biggest restriction(as far as i know). So, ported manifolds go the furthest as far as hp per $ when spending money on exhaust. I know there are a few people on clubgp.com that do vendor quality jobs for $150 or less.
A fender wall intake or cold air intake is also a nice hp per $ mod since it can be made pretty cheap.
But if you want some nice power, try some higher ratio rockers.
The cheapest price new you'll find is $280 + $25 for new torque to yeild rocker bolts and gaskets:
http://www.3800performance.com/Merch...roduct_Count=1
And it'* not really needed if you have lower mileage but, new springs will help kill valve float.
There only about 70 bucks or so at gmpartsdirect.com.
If you want the most power, cam it! but that'* big $

i have a question about the ported heads . . .
first i heard back in the days i was working on a 396 Impala that the porting of heads will not help unilt high RPM and then you really should have all the other mods to go with it.
Also, i have to take issue with the cost $150? what about removal and replacement? that could get expensive.
For me i think if you were going to mess with the heads you might as well jump in and put in the cam and other supporting mods
my thoughts
