Default high flow cats. Too expensive

I would like a high flow cat, but they are $250+. I know everyone recomends getting those ones, but can you just buy a high flow cat and cut and weld it in.(I know how to weld). I don't see why it wouldn't work just a well, that is if you don't plan on going 3". Does anyone know were I can pick up a high flow cat on the internet for a lot cheaper.
And what about that U bend thing. Again, cut, weld, drill hole for sensor?

Look on ebay for a 2.5" high flow cat, either carsound or magnaflow.

What u-bend? Those were only on the lowly W-bodies (Grand Prix, Monte Carlo, Impala, Regal). Our Bonneville'* have no such thing as part of their exhaust system.

As will stated -www.justmagnaflow.com . If you want a 2.5" get part # 94106, and for 3" get # 94109
