(Idea) What if I put this with that for the L36?
I was surfing INTENSE website because it'* strangely addicting. I was trying to figure out how to max hp and speed out of the L36 since everyone has a L67 practically!! I was thinking what if a Level 2 pkg for the L36 but replace the 1.90 with better 1.60 (I think that'* the stock ratio) and add a Stage 1X N/A cam and a 245mm Extreme Duty Tq converter anda 180 tstat (if that is not included in the Level 2 pkg) and replace cat with a hi-flo cat and lastly put in INTENSE Street/Strip shift kit. Would that be noticable? Or not possible?
I was curious. I may do some things during/after college. I'm just doing my research.
I realize that a N/A cannot gain as much as a */C but it can be made better than stock right?

Of course it'* possible, and the horsepower increase would be VERY noticeable. However, you're talking about spending over $2000, especially if you're paying somebody to do the labor. Better start saving right now

I'm kind of in the same boat - debating whether to drop a lot of money to make it marginally faster compared to the same upgrades on an SSEi. My most likely upgrades would be 1.9'*, magnaflow cat, and a PCM - i'm really on the fence on this just like you - "Is it worth it?" I'm anxious for more of the L36'ers to do some more serious performance mods to see how it goes.
big_news_1, your cam is a custom job done by you, right? Seems like after the tuning it works well for you.

Yeah, you can get a drunky if you feel like having your car reassembled with a few critical components missing....
"Hmmm.... this looks like a timing chain tensioner..... Must have forgotten to put this on..."
But seriously, even with my cheap cam & head job, our cost still came to ~$1000. We still have to do final figuring on the money spent, but this stuff isn't cheap. Plus, we did ALL the labor ourselves. You're talking about buying new parts, plus a torque converter. You'll be spending a lot more than we did on my car.

I think it'll be worth it (if I actually do it)
