I have the dis-4 system but as most know its not installed right now. I'm curious to find out where you put it and how difficult the installation is. The only place I was thinking (because I have the nitrous control unit where your talking about) is right next to the supercharger towards the firewal. Build a custom seat for it to sit in and insulate it. It would solve the where to put it problem plus make a great display for under your hood. I saw someone did this in a mustang and looked nice.

i know exactly where your talking about. MSD makes a special mounting plate for the 4.6L mustang! against the firewall there wouldnt be bad, but if i can remember correctly, which is a stretch , there was something there that had to be moved. I think it was wiring, not mechanical. The installation deosnt sound too difficult but if you dont pick the right spot and the DIS gets hot or the route of the wires picks up electrical internference, then troubleshooting becomes a nightmare.

mmmm...yes and no, I can see it getting hot as a problem but thats why you can wrap the mount in exhaust wrap or similar heat shield. Its cheap enough and might even look cool. The RF interference may or may not be a problem, they plug into the 40,000v coils so if there is going to be any there isn't much of a way to aviod that no matter where you place it. If your worried or it does become a problem check out http://www.rfsafe.com/ and pick up some RF material to wrap the wires in.

I had mine professionally installed. They mounted it directly behind and above the engine on the plastic housing on the firewall .

I suppose so, I've never opened the cover to see what'* under there. Anyway, the MSD'* very solid, out of the way, and looks good there.
