You really can't do it unless you have a CAI, in order to do this your airflow needs to be more laminar than stock.

It'* very easy to do. There is a ring you need to take off first. There are 2 small holes in it. I took an x-acto knife and took it out with that. Gently pull inward since it sits in a groove in the TB. Then carefully pry the screen out. But it will work best with an intake like Glasuan said, or if you gut your airbox.

As far as doing it with a SC, if you have an intake that is already letting a lot more air in, removing the MAF screen will only improve the performamce since that things feeds on air. There are bigger benefits if you have a Supercharged engine.

Like they said, it'* easy. Once you look at it, it won't take you 5 seconds to figure it out. I can try and post pics of the parts removed when I get home in the morning.

I might have to side wit boat on dat wun. I took my MAF screen out, gutted airbox, things were about the same at WOT. slightly better at low end. THEN, I got a smaller SC pulley and and blowin at about 13-15 PSI. now i cant go to WOT because it was decreasing power. I had better throttle response at 80% throttle. Couldnt figure it out for months.THought it was KR but KR kept reading low in my scan tool. I thought it may be intake air heat related so i boxed the intake pipe off and decreased intake air temp ALOT. Still the same issue at WOT. thinking what else could be making me run lean or rich, i remebered someone saying that the MAF sesnsor is sensitive to turbulence. I put my MAF back in 2 weeks ago and knock on wood, its running like a bat out of hell at WOT. which SHOULD mean i will be able to hit high 14'* now since i ran a 15.2 with 80% throttle and 3/4 tank of gas.

Hey Nytro! Nice engine! Never seen it with your intake on till now. Is that the filter that came with it? If so it is much different than the one I had. But I got the K&N now. It looks like your pipe is shorter too, but could be the pic.

BTW, Nice breather!

wasssup Bonnie? yah, thats the one that came with it. You got the K&N now? Is there any noticeable differnence? how much was it? You have a 94 i thought the engine was pretty much the same so i would think we got the same pipe but i dont know now. YOu have a headlight washer???? I dont have one of those and my car was supposed to have every option available to mankind for 95.

lol, thanks again for the graphic. If you didnt get to see a close up here it is: I need to do it over slightly larger and blemishless. The cool thing is it doesnt have glue , it peels right off.

Hey Nytro, ya I got the K&N X-Stream filter with the velocity stack. I can't really give specifics on the performance increase, but the surface area is much greater, and it'* a K&N which is always good. It'* a better filter than what I had, but yours there is different from the one I got with it. Here'* a pic of the K&N:

Can you shoot a close up pic of the intake for me? Your pipe in the picture looks shorter and/or the angle looks different. Could just be the pic...but it looks like your filter doesn't reach down as far as mine did. :?
