How much would it cost me to put this imput shaft in my tranny. I'm afraid to even put a smaller pulley on my car without trans work.

It'* 500 bucks just to buy it.

But I wouldn't worry about it unless you are running 12'* or below. Then you making serious power.

Making 1200HP, yea, I can see the need for one.

I didn't know that guys running 12s even still had the 4T65E. Doesn't a smaller pulley, ehaust work, and rockers usually finish them off?

wow im impressed, maybe GM should look at applting all of there trans engineering to the 3800 SC application instead of the ECOtec

Unfortunately, the 3800 is a dying engine. It might not be around much longer. There are a lot of new powertrains coming out that will replace it in the upcoming years.

As for the tranny, it would cost too much to develop a strong tranny for cars that don't really require it.

I can believe the 1200 hp rating......for a limited time.
80% stock with upgraded parts are probably very similar, if not identical to the INTENSE unit. Note the 3rd Clutch comment....a definite weak link besides the shaft splines, differential and torque converter.
For +$5000 you too can have one.
