Default Gains to be had from a N* and ported Gen3

Today i stumbled upon a N* TB for CHEAP. Originally i was going to port my L67 TB, but since acquiring this 75mm N* i think it would just make more sense to pick up an LQ4 MAF and the adapter plate and call it a day. I really need help putting all this together as i am not sure i know everything required to run this setup. I'm getting my Gen3'* outlet ported and also the inlet ported to 75mm and smoothed out. I know I am going to need to get the LQ4 MAF tables loaded on my PCM but besides that what is needed to run this setup? Do you think i will see any gains from this or will it just serve as a supporting mod for the S1X i plan on dropping in next year? Between this, headers and some stickier tires i really want to break into the 13'* this year on the stock valvetrain.

I dunno about the N* TB being a noticeable performance addition and it just seems like you need to go through too much trouble just to get everything running correctly.

I say cam it and all it a day....er, year.

FYI: Headers and rockers got me into the 13'*.

You will also need wiring adapters for the IAC, TPS, and MAF. You will also need to modify the cable bracket.
Wiring adapters are not cheap either, which is why I've decided to just wait until I am really out flowing the L67.
For the LQ4 be sure to check out www.car-part.com I know there is a place on there selling them for $14 + shipping. Do a nationwide search and you'll find the seller.

I would say a good ported Gen 3 is probably good for 15-20hp and I'd think The N* might be good for 5-10hp. I think that alone would have you knocking on 13s door

You will need a good silicon coupler to connect the TB to the MAF but aside from that changing the MAF tables you should be ready to go. If the cable bracket on the N* isn't modified for L67 use it could be tricky to do but even that is a pretty easy fix.

ZZP has the bracket for 25 bucks. adapters for 50 and the adapter plate for 100. Pricey yes but i think i could also find some of these things scouring for sale sections on various forums.

I would hit 13'* on rockers and springs alone right now with my PEM'* i think but I would end up kicking myself in the *** when i want a cam next year. I might as well hit a high 13 on what will become supporting mods for the S1X next season..... and inevitably a transmission

Unless you have a tuning program I wouldn't change over to the N* setup. None of the factory MAF tables (LQ4 included) match the tb that well. They're just a starting point and you'll most likely end up running pretty rich until the MAF tables can be fine tuned.

Many of the N* TBs come modified so the bracket from ZZP isn't needed especially when all you need to do is make cut on the bracket with a dremel. I would try to get the transmission squared away before a cam.

Isn’t that the truth, I’m plan on hitting the dyno soon to get my tune straightened out. I’m almost positive my KR is from my MAF needing to be dialed in.
