Would it help to clamp the front springs to help with launching at the track?
I have a couple sets of spring clamps from my day with the Shelby Dodges (I used them to give myself an idea of what my Lebaron would look like lowered).
Basically a mod to be installed and removed while at the track.
Curious how this combined with the ELC trick would help.
:?
Any thoughts?

My thoughts (and extensive time spent on my suspension) is that the rear squat is what 'allows' the front to rise. That'* not really a good explanation, but with the rear tricked up, the front rise is alot less. I doubt it would make a significant difference, but it could be tested. You'd probably never see it in time slips, but comparing vids (same day, same patch of road) may show a change in rise.

Remember that the entire weight of the drivetrain is trying to hold the front down already, while the rear is left quite a bit more 'free'.

I think that if you clamp the front down, more weight transfer will be pushed to the rear.

x2 Lowering the front would help a lil' but you def. don't want it locked like the rear.

Would this cause wheel hop?

Maybe I'll just have to resort to using them on the rear springs then.

Something better (perhaps) for the rear springs may be coming soon. I've got a couple ideas. One of them is a quick-release bar for the rear suspension to lock it into the ELC TRICKED height for track runs. But the bar would have to have a TON (quite literally) of support welded to the subframe and control arm.

Ingenious Literally, what'* taken you so long.
No, but literally, although it sounds simple, but requires more than just one simple weld, it'* kinda hard to believe that we haven't had anyone think of this yet.
Kinda like drag bars, but way different and for the daily driver.

I've had it on the drawing board for almost two years. Since my first runs in the Zilla in '04. I knew the squat was costing me on my 60' times. INTENSE, in a way, sparked the idea. Wheelie bars were to extreme for me (I'm sortof in a different class than the demons they produce), but the 'uplock' bars would be far more practical, subtle, and easily installed at the track. Adjustable, too.

rear air bags...$75 a piece. Easy to replace where coil springs were. Better ride than OEM at lower pressures. Just a thought.

Many of us have rear ELC, which is very easy to trick in the fully inflated/lifted rear position from the factory.

Big problem:

Air compresses under load.
