Making modded fuel rails
I have been working on some winter projects. One of them includes modified fuel rails and they have been out of stock at all the suppliers and I didn't have an extra $110+ bucks plus a core and shipping. So I decided to mod my own. I extensively chopped them up a bit and then got out the ole brazing kit and welded new fittings on. I sure hope they work. Still waiting on a couple of fittings to finish connecting to the FPR and to connect the AN lines directly to the factory tubing at the firewall. What do you think?
Started with these I got off a friend. Also got an extra set off a Bonnie member here just in case my first prototype didn't go so well. Pretty ugly huh?

What'* wrong with my hose clamps Haro?? I am debating about them. But it was going to cost about $30 more just to add AN fittings to that hose.

Hose clamps can loosen over time.
$30 is cheap insurance over burning fuel on the engine.
Looks good though. Might suggest a fitting for a gauge to check your pressures. You can tee off the schraeder valve connection.

Edit: I changed out the clamps for fuel injection clamps. Much better now. These things are approved for high pressure fuel lines at the track so there shouldn't be any worries. I fully trust they will hold fine. They are the same clamps that Thrasher used to modify the original rails.
Here is the paint that I use for all my high temp needs. Looks as great on the headers as the day I painted them. No flaking or anything. Just have to prep really really well first.

That really does look nice and clean. Good idea on the high temp spray paint! What do you do when prepping the surfaces or the fuel rails and headers?
