EP claims that the biggest difference between their unit and the INTENSE unit is the use of a special friction material behind the side gears.
One of the reasons it took so long was waiting for his supplier of friction discs.
Similar theory to GM traditional limited slip clutch packs.
I understand that INTENSE uses metal plates. Correct me if this has changed Rogue.
This in combination with a much higher spring force give a much more slip resistant clutching action, so even when there is differential wheel speeds such as in a hard turn there is still enough torque transmitted to the opposite wheel to break it free.
They also do some special machining to improve pin lubrication.
Rogue, it weighs 9.5 lbs. Why do you ask?
I can arrange some more modeling from my daughter Chynna, if you like. She loves to show off......must run in the family. :P

It must be almost the same weight as the INTENSE unit....if not identical.
I have to swap over the planetary gears on this unit from the original one now in the trani so that will add a little more weight.

I'm Baaaack.
I paid Domestic Performance $600. US, so I guess I really did pay for the core based on what INTENSE charges for theirs. :?
Hey Bill that Grand Prix we thrashed around in Thursday night sure needed an Lsd didn't it. :P

Up on the hoist and ready to dismantle.
I used a friends shop.
Ball joint separated with a few "gentle raps".
It popped out cleanly with a chisel to force the snap ring inside just like the instructions say.
There it is removed. The bracket that support the end of the trani from the engine was a blind removal...thanks GM. :?
Next was the swap of the reluctor and spider gears.....lots of cursing with the needle bearings so I didn't take any pics of that. Very frustrating part cause there are two rows of tiny needle bearings inside each gear. Only the last gear made it without any dropping out. The first one...lost them all on the bench.
Back in ready for action.
Total time - 2 hrs.
When the weather clears up I'll give it the test.
