How exactly is the fan override done?
I'm kind of interested just to have it as a backup...
Does the fan override effect the normal operation of the fans @ set temps (215 or whatever it is)?

Identical for all 92/93 Bonnevilles. I simply leave mine on if it'* hot outside and I'm in traffic. It'* strictly manual, but I don't need it much, and I don't even think about it any more. Turning it on and off is instinctive now.
This helped tremendously at the dragstrip last year. And I've never wished for larger fans.
