an exhuast question
i have a question if i went from my stock inlet aize which i believe is 2 1/4" or 2/ 1/2" and jumped it up to 3" so i could use a flowmaster 40 series 3" inlet dual 2 1/2" outlet would that cause me to lose low end torques dus to changing the size of the exhaust. if it would or does not sound like a good idea to do that does anyone know a site where i can get a flowmaster 40 series that has a inlet the sane size as mine because i havent found one. thank you very much

put your year and trim level in your signature and that will help a lot also, your talkin about upsizing the pipe size right before it goes into the muffler right? this wouldnt cause you to loose a ton of backpressure but for the ease of installation i would get one that has a 2.5" inlet and dual 2.5" outlets, and since your talkin bout a 40series flowmaster im guessin you got the se or sle model with the single exhaust? your headed in the right direction

Yea out of all the Camaro/Firebird mufflers Ive seen, they all have the 3'' inlet. I would go ahead and get it since all you need to do is add a reducer. Full Boar also makes cheap mufflers that claim to flow more than Flowmasters and Im seriously considering getting one in the next couple of days or so.

does this look like a real flowmaster muffler, because it is cheap and i dont want to spend my money on it and it be one of those "flowmaster STYLE" mufflers. [/img]

also hooker aero chamber mufflers that start at $59.99
warlock racing mufflers made by flow tech have a plate
that you remove from the rear of the muffler for a straight through
design nice and LOUD $65.99.
