When I did my first intake I used a PVC pipe. It worked OK, but you still need soem way to get the filter out of the hot engine bay. You also have to worry about outgassing from the PVC. Your best bet may be to gut your stock air box and mount a K&N filter in that.

Because it doesn't tolerate heat from your crossover pipe, it heatsoaks easily and transfers that heat to your intake charge, and it outgasses nasty vapors when it gets hot.
Not only that, but ABS fittings don't lend themselves very well to smooth splices and transitions.
Quite honestly, paper would be a better choice.

I wont disagree that ABS is a bad way to go, but ithe budgets a little tight for now i was just seein if i could make it work for the time being. I took it out on the track just stock for a test run and i had a defective tire and hit the wall with the front drivers side. missin half a headlight and got a nice dent right there in the front of the quarter panel.
