Default Ram Air Scoops

To day I saw a 00-03 SSEi with Lund scoops on the hood. One had Ram Air decal on it and had an actual grill, not the plastic plate that looks like a grill like the other scoop had. How would you go about rigging this up?

you would need to mount the scoops in the hood
put a box under the hood just close enough for the seal youll need to keep air in
then connect the box to the TB
it'* a PITA
would just be easier to put two working scoops dumping into the engine compartment if you just want to look, most people wont know they dont do anything....

"most people wont know they dont do anything.... " Ouch, thats the logic that got us the "ram air" on most cars now. 90% aren't functional, hell lots don't even have openings in the hood. Thats what got us the dual exhaust on 4cyls (yeah they're all over Indiana). And tons of other "as long as it looks cool" performance parts. I competely understand the reasoning behind it though so I'm not ragging on you about it but myself I'd use it as a last resort. I was wanting a ram air myself and making it functional wouldn't be that difficult. Three pieces of square plastic would work wonders with a cone filter. Make a U shape out of them and put the filter right in there with a hole in the hood above it. The easiest way is to get half a stock box and fasten it to the intake tube facing up. Cut a hole in the hood directly above it and fasten the whole thing to the hood. Bada bing, ram air. You can get one of those scoops for like $60-90. Sure it might not look as flashy as the ones with one large scoop in the middle but when people realize its actually functional (and when you blow past them in a race) I'm sure you'll get respect.

I put Lund scoops on almost a year ago. You're right, I haven't seen Dr Suess in ages.

I think the lund scoops are the best looking of the stick-on variety. I'd mount them closer to the nose though, like the early gen-2 formulas.

Domestic had a picture of a hood with ra scoops on it. they were dual vent types, but I don't think they were functional. If you were to make them operational, you'd want them to be as close to the nose as possible if they face forward, or close to the windshield if they face backward. Airflow in the middle of the hood isn't optimal for induction. I've heard it can actually create a vortex, sucking air out of the intake path. You need to go where the most pressure is.
