Default chrome plated genV

ok i know heat is the worst case for a charger but wow it just looks so dammmmm sweet. here is a link to a club gp site where this guy had his whole m90 vhrome plated.

http://www.clubgp.com/newforum/tm.as...mode=1&smode=1

is there any downsides to doing this?? i know that powdercoating will hold heat in but since plating is a sorce of metal wouldnt that sorta help disapate heat at least better then powder coating?? the price is not realy that bad. pretty much to get a used genV have it plated then ported would cost about the same as just buying a brand new one...... at least thats the way it was told to me.,..... anyinputs.thanks all....

Tommy polished the aluminum. It'* not chrome plated.
The chrome plating would act as an insulator.
Looks nice but I wouldn't do it.

wow that was FAST ya i know tommy is a member here. i just bought some gauges from him!! but i just though that the polish would be better then powedercoating. im working on my car 1000000% more now that my back is messed up. cant realy do anything with my bike... so im working on inter/exter and underhood.

silver why would you say you wouldnt do it??? would it casue that much of an insulation that it would acctuly decrease performance???

I would polish it like he did.

Maximizing heat dissapation is key, so chrome plating it would be a negative.

ANY kind of paint or plating is a BAD idea. Hot superchargers contribute to KR and decreased performance due to boost charge temps.

All show, no go.

but that m90 is just polished right?? not plated. i understand any coating would hold heat in and will make it not a effecant. but if its just polished then there realy wouldnt be much harm going that route right???

the way i have understand this, the m90 was polished not plated since its alum. or was it plated. sorry if this has already been answered i just wanta make sure im 100% sure here.... thanks.
