Default The initial plan...

...Doing a bit of talking with my brother in law and we came up with this. Still homework to do but just figured i would look for comments here as well. We were discussing his '97 SSEI and whether we could take the super charger and install it on my '05 SE. Aside from the Hi-Flow exhaust and 180 F therm that needs to be done, and assorted gasket kits and such.....any ideas or experiences dealing with this? Both are 3.8 V6....seems logical that it can done...as I said tho....some homework to be done on it first...

nope sorry it cant be done COST EFFECTIVELY......Its not as seay as just swapping parts

Intense just built a L67 from a L36 block and rotating assembly but they have many other parts that went into the build....see they have the advantage of buliding the motor from the ground up....

and if you somehow did get everything to work you would still blow your trans because of the extra power

it would be cheaper to sell your 05 and buy an 03 SSEi

Its not impossible to do, but it has been done. The most extreme being a series 2 L67+ trans, swapped into a 90?91 SSE

If your plan is cost effective as mentioned don't bother. But if you want to do it and can do it...give er.

Between the L36 and L67, you're looking at different pistons, connecting rods, compression ratio, cylinder heads, lower intake manifold, injectors....... The list goes on, and you can't just swap parts in and out randomly. It'll take some serious engineering. You can try if you want to, but make sure to do a TON of homework before you consider it. It'* no walk in the park.

there is a new guy at my local parts place. He says he did it on a series 1. Goes on to tell me he only put it together and it ran. Thinks the guy ended up swapping the computer. "uh yeah" I replied.

I wouldn't think the car had any longevity if it was to be pushed as a properly built motor would.

i know you told me the story Bill, and although i would like to believe it...i would need pics and a detailed descritpion to believe...unless he ran a very low boost level

Pat..change year to yeah in the quote of me.

I agree, the swap is to me a tough one to believe. Especially since non supercharged cars don't come with connectors and wiring for things like the BCS. Computers are totally different and IF it started and ran ...I'd be surprised.

Not to mention all the brackets are different. Accessory bracket, belt offsets, and on and on. Power steering.......too many things to consider (Harmonic balancer)....and on and on.......and on.....

All this on and on will be added to the Techinfo article over Xmas vacation.
