Default All searched out... exhaust ideas for Frankenbonny

I spent a couple of hours searching for some exhaust ideas. Theres a whole boat load of info on this forum... it'* a bit overwhelming. For those that are unfimiliar with my project, I will have a 97 L67 in a 90 SSE. I would like the entire system from manifold back to be new and stainless steel.

This is what'* left of the stock 97 exhaust. The rest of it was in pretty rough shape. Are aftermarket downpipes available in stainless steel? With an aftermarket high flow cat, will I need an O2 simulator?

Since the fuel lines fit so well, I'm willing to bet that the wheelbase of the 90 is exact to 3/4" shorter than the 97. What options do I have for a stanless steel cat-to-muffler pipe?

I'm looking for a low, deep tone out of this exhaust similar to the one in my truck. Since only a small handfull of people have heard my truck, this makes suggestions difficult. Basically the lower the tone, the better. I'm not too concerned with loudness. With this in mind, would a resonator be recommended?

Sorry to beat dead horse with another exhaust thread but I'm not an expert in the performance end of these cars. Thanks.

Magnaflow.

The res quiets and deepens the tone. Stock at idle, F'n screamin' at 5500.

if it were me id go with aftermarket res with the o2 sim and then get a flowmaster cuz I personally think they sound lower then the other aftermaket mufflers.

Seems like the resonator is the way to go. Check

How about the downpipe and cat-to-muffler pipe? Will I find stainless steel parts or will this be a custom bent job?? I was also concerned about the mounting flange at the end of the stock downpipe. Is it customary to cut that off and simply weld in an aftermarket cat?

Very "poppy" sounding on Series II cars i've heard them on, not much "tone" or rumble..

Frank is gonna be noticed coming down the road. No doubt. I think Randy wants the same deep chest hitting bass sound in his truck. The sound travels through you

If your truck is a V8 it will be pretty close to get the same sound out of a V6.

You can probably skip the O2 spoof and just bridge the rear O2 wiring into the main O2 sensor wiring.

Interesting. I didn't know that that was possible. Any down side as opposed to using the simulator?

Yea, Mike. My truck is a 2000 F150 (V with a Gibson Supertruck exhaust. It'* has a nice deep rumble to it
