biggest scam ever for us...our cars desire laminar flow and the tornado dosnet provide that....

What is laminar flow?

it is the best type of flow for air into our Throttle Bodies, that is about all i know. DONT BUY ONE! A better bet would be making a cold air intake, which is probably cheaper, and getting more HP and MPG. Do a search for "Rice Pipe"

some car magazine i get in the mail just tested one on a 95 honda civic dx (stock d15 non-vtec). car gained 7whp.

As for laminar flow, think of it as a measure of how smooth the flow is. Our MAF sensor (mass air flow) needs to measure how much air is moving past it, but for it to do the job right, the flow needs to be very smooth and steady - laminar. If you throw something in the intake (Tornado) that'* meant (or heck, not even meant) to create a 'vortex' or anything of the sort, you're chopping the air up, and taking away the smoothness. Under those conditions, our car'* MAF'* will have a hard time reading the true mass flow rate, which in turn tells the PCM that the engine isn't moving as much air as it thinks it is. End result? Lower performance.

And it'* this way for pretty much any car with a MAF... some cars have less trouble with it, others have more - but it'* not really good at all. On the other hand, I have talked to people who had good results using a tornado on a carbureted vehicle.

Well, theoretically, the Tornado would work on a vehicle like my wife'* 3.1 Buick Skylark. The MAF is inline with the intake ducting, so as long as you put the Tornado in after the MAF and ahead of the TB it should do what it claims, shouldn't it?

Not with a multiport fuel injection car like ours or your skylark. Perhaps with a TBI or Carb.
