Getting a 97 GTP for $5000???
Wondering how good of an idea this would be? The car has 98,999 miles on it. Its at a dealership. The price seems right, and I have always wanted a GTP, what should I watch out for? Also what kind of things will I need to worry about with 100k on the engine?

100k is */C checkup/maintenence time, otherwise it'* just like any other engine, you'll wanna do fuel/air filters, plugs, wires, o2, some injector cleaner etc.
Check the tranny fluid too, you'll want that to be able to do all the torque.

Thats a pretty good deal. You just need to watch for the same things you would need to on your car with 100k on it. The L67 isn't much different than the L36 maintenance wise. Just make sure the tranny isn't acting up, thats about all.

At least you don't have to worry about an upper intake failure. Check the tires and brake pads. If they are worn get the dealership to give you new ones. If you say you WILL buy the car if they change the pads/tires, they should do it...hopefully.

I took a look at the GTP today. The car is in amazing condition. It drives immaculately. I will have my mechanic buddy take a look at it tommorow. Hopefully this will be the one. How much should I expect for my Bonnie? As a trade that is.

Really, she is in good shape, but last time I took it to a dealership for trade-in evaluation most offered me anywhere from $2000-$2800.
