Well today was the first day of the tear down. I don't have all the tools I need yet so I was halted by a sticky intake manifold. To those of you who haven't been inside these things yet its amazing...109k HARD miles on it and sure there is carbon (naturally) but everything so far looks in great condition. The worst I saw so far (I knew about the leaky supercharger) was the supercharger gasket between it and the intake was cracked in half somehow, may have been during removal. It looked good and clean but cracked very easily when I picked it up. So far there isn't any tricky parts other than this damn intake manifold. Its sticking like its bolted down but I checked everything and it should be free. I don't have a rubber mallet or a good pry bar but tomorrow I will
. We'll see if thats the problem. I'm excited to look at the pistons and see what shape they're in, I'm expecting pretty good. I just need to keep track of all the nuts and bolts! Questions?
