The guy did say his S2 crank has been weight reduced, I guess that'* why he wants to reuse it.
Smart money says he'* headed for a heartbreak, but let'* keep an eye on this and maybe we'll all learn something.

my questions too... I wanted to know after I saw a lineup of several different years of 3800 crankshafts in Engine Builder March 2008. While a very poor way to judge, the photors appeared to have all of the journals lining up, though dimensions are still unknown since they aren't mentioned in the article.

The counterweights on the S2 crank are closer to the center, and smaller. That could possibly attribute to the higher redline. Less power wasted on centrifugal energy. Less stress on the material.
