which SHO'* are u referring to?
In the 80'* they had the 302, early 90'* they had a 3.2L V6 built by yamaha then in the late 90'* they briefly went back to a V8 3.9L I think.

I have a friend who has got a 90 I believe with the yamaha motor, he runs 15.2'* bone stock, those where the fastest ones i believe.

I stand corrected the V8 was a 3.4. I knew it was small but didnt realize it was that small.

Lets go with the 99 in that link.

It appears to be around the same size as a Bonneville too

15.7 doesnt seem that hard to obtain with a late 90'* bonne especially if your at or near sealevel. Id imagine the 1/4 mile would be a good race, but on the highway the advantage would go to the SHO. As for HP, Intake, full exhaust and PCM would probably get us to 230-235 crank hp.

I used to have a '90 SHO . I ran a 16.1 in the 1/4, but it also had 217K it & never had the 60K service done. You might be able to beat one from a stop with some mods, but it might be a different story on the highway, they pull very nicely over 3K .

There was never a 302 V8 SHO. First ones in the late 80'* started with a 3.0 Yamaha built 4 cam engine. Then in '92 the switched body styles with 2 different engines being provided: the same 30. for use in manual-equipped cars, and a slightly harger 3.2 version of that car to help make up for tha Automatic'* drain on the horsepower and torque. That was used until '96, when the new body style SHO was released, with an automatic tranny ONLY (and a very poor one at that.) It used a 3.4 liter DOHC (4 cam) V8 engine that was never raved about, mainly because for a V8 it put out a lackluster 245-ish horsepower (i'm not sure exactly). That model carried on until 1999, when the sho line was dropped completely.

If you compare the SSEi to the SHO, there'* no comparison. The SSEi is VERY easily modded well beyond the SHO, in all generations.
