Saturday started out bad...it rained early in the am so everything was wet. By 9am when we got to the track they had it pretty dried off but still water puddles in the staging lanes and general crapiness in the pit areas. Air was thick with moisture, not good for poweradders. We also had a pretty strong headwind (20+ mph) which didnt help at all. Add to that my 60' times and launches are still attrocious. As with my first time at the track my runs got better towards the end of the day. The air was thining and the track was getting stickier as it got sunny. My best runs came late in the day but everyone was down almost .60 in times including Wes who normally runs 13.5 (NA car). He found it very hard to even break into 13 yesterday (only doing it once) which shows you how bad the weather was for the cars. Ok, enough excuses here are the 2 best times...

14.050 @ 98.66 w/ 2.196 60'
14.121 @ 99.38 w/ 2.363 60' (last run of day, put on 3.0 pully in a desperate attempt to break 13'*, goofed the launch)

Even I could do better in the Red Rocket to 60 foot....2.363, bah!

LOL, j/k.

Impressive though, even for a huge head wind like that.

Problem was the car had much more torque with the 3.0. I had problems launching it before with the 3.2 and the 3.0 just goofed me up all the more. If I had made a few passes with it, things might have been different. Damn street tires I really need an LSD and some slicks....

Still good times considering the weather. Only got 2 runs in though, why so little?
Oh and your sleeping at the lights with a 1.2 on both. Now you gotta go back soon and a nice day for that 13 second slip.

No, made about 13 passes, most were in the 14.2 to 14.4 range. I wasnt sleeping at the light, we were doing single passes and I was trying to work on my launch by looking at the rpm i was preloading too instead of the light. My worst reaction time was almost 3 seconds

Man 3 seconds. lol. That'* stinks that you didn't hit 13 yet, but you know that you will on a different day. What tires you running?

How about the pre-loading, what RPM'* where you trying out? My last visit I was leaving around 1800rpms and would wait till the tires hooked and than go WOT. Not too bad, but man I need some sticky tires, stock RSA'* gotta go, unfortunatly going to be a bit, will get them rotated before next visit. Hopefully Thrusday I'll go to the track.

Good job anyway, Bubba! By the way, nice stars!! I thought you only knew everything about computers!! Maybe you can write a program that allows you to practice launches and adjust to things like that pull stuff you were talking about as you modify your car. They probably already have that somewhere. But if they don't- you'd be the one to do it.

That stinks about the rain! I still say that if weather had been optimal.... 12! 12, I SAY! I believe in the 8 Ball. And at least it didn't get carried away on a trailor. That would have made for a much crappier day.

GOOD JOB!! Video?

The way the track was run was not very great IMO. Nobody got numbers, you didnt get your slip until you walked back up to the tree and got it. By the time you got there 5 other people had run and since you didnt see the board as you shot by you had to guess which one yours was. I finally had a friend of mine stay at the tree and grab my slips. As soon as you staged the guy hit the tree button and the lights came down not giving you a lot of time to think. Since I wasnt racing anyone I just said screw it and took my time getting the checklist done on the launch.

I'm running fairly new stock RSA'* (that suck). I didnt get them real grippy with a burnout due to no LSD. Last thing I needed was grenading my dif. I was preloading to about 1800 but with cold RSA'* it just wasnt happening.

Yea, I have a few of my earlier runs, unfortunately the battery died before getting the PB'*. Got some great runs of BADSSEi which was doing 11.6'* with a blown head gasket. The turbo car was misfiring all day (apparantly it had a fire at the ILGPC mod day a few weeks back and something was damaged) and it still managed to break 10'*. I have some great vids of Big Jeff'* Monte Carlo almost standing straight up on the launch. I'll try to get them all posted today.

3 second R/T? That'* enough time for a beer before launching! Pretty damn respectable times, just the same, Todd. Especially since you don't have your setup the way you want it, and still have some kinks to iron out.

Well done! Can't wait for the 'perfect' day for 8-ball.
