no, your car wont start if you don't do the security relearn procedure. I installed my pcm and then drove the car for about a day without it and just kept it under 3k RPM'*. Someone a little more knowledgeable can probably tell you exactly what will happen but from what i understand the crankshaft position sensor isn't "in sync" with the PCM so it can mess up your timing.

I drove to Casper'* Electronics and Justin was very helpful. He even stuck around a good half hour after work waiting for my car to start up after putting the Intense PCM in.
It was only fair that I bought a V-Plus Volt Booster for his efforts.

The TECH II won't program your car'* PCM unless it'* hooked up to the server, and in a mode to Download the latest calibration to your car.
I've used our TECH II many times, and any time I want to make ANY changes, it prompts to be connected to the server via the data cable.
