Damaged tranny! need help with rebuild.
I had poasted earlier that my tranny had taken water from the radiator. after a change of oil, a flush, & some additive. Its still missing on fisrt gear. So now I need to open it up & what better time to upgrade.
So is there a list of all the parts I need?
Im talking about making it a HD

Just off the top of my head....
1. Solenoids (shift solenoids, pressure control solenoid)
2. Input shaft (maybe should look into the strengthened Intense unit? It'* good insurance down the road...)
3. Might want to consider replacing your torque converter, they can go bad after a while and it'* a real pain in the arse to deal with...
Other than that, inspect all of your hard parts and possibly install a shift kit if you haven't already...

There'* alot of things you could do...what'* your budget? What are your end goals? (I think you mentioned possibly going turbo at some point)
Is the car at all driveable (or can you go without it awhile)? Maybe you should consider buying a 4T65E-HD tranny and building it up?

I got about $900 into my tranny including the labor to rebuild it. This included everything in my sig plus some other hard parts (input shaft, ect) and a torque converter. The "delux rebuild kit" I got from Ebay for about $170. Along with the hardened stove pipe for $20. The HD diff, gears, and LSD were purchased from a forum member. The Trango shift kit and solonoids also came from Ebay.

The car is drivable, but it sometimes misses on first gear, & it only does it when the tranny is cold, like in the mornings. I will drive the car untill the tranny dies. & Im gona start collecting the parts I need, for when the time comes. I do plan on a turbo in the future, & I want the tranny to be ready when I do.
