O2 spoof
I would like to gut my cat converter this weekend but I understand I need an O2 spoof to trick the computer into not setting a code. What is an O2 spoof? Is it a resistor? Where do I get one?
Thanks for your help, I'm new around here.

I've never heard of an O2 spoof either.
You can gut your cat, but I wouldn't try to run without an O2 sensor. The computer relies on the O2 sensor readings to decide how much air and fuel to mix. Without it, it will default to a fairly rich mode, and you'll get crappy gas mileage, and probably worse performance.
Before fuel injection with O2 sensors, the computer just had to make a rough guestimate as to what the best ratio of air to fuel to use. The O2 sensor helps it be a lot more precise.
I'm not sure why someone would think running without an O2 sensor would be an improvement.

There is an O2 senser before the cat and an HO2 senser after the cat. If you gut the cat, I'm told the second sensor will not read correctly and set a code. The spoof tricks the computer into thinking there is a cat. I'm not sure exactly what a "spoof" is and where to get one. Can anybody explain what an O2 spoof is and where to get/make one?

Series II 3.8l application
This plug-in Spoof is designed to eliminate the SES codes associated with the post-cat sensor on GM single cat vehicles 1997-2002. Plugs in, and rear sensor can be removed from the vehicle. It’* used for single cat (1 rear sensor) applications.
These are made for all 1996 and later GM engines except the ones found in the Cavalier and Sunfire. This replaces the rear O2 sensor (the one behind the catalytic converter where the factory U bend is).
Basically these are two right ups about the same product.
They both cost $45.00.
I can get them for you if you really want them but they are for off road use only.

Ok the actual difference between the price I quoted was 1 dollar since your shipping is 5.00. Remember the Bonneville crowd might like to save money but they is smarter than that. Oh and for Bonneville owners part of this club I will reduce the cost by another 2 dollars . Lol
Scott you still have your Bonneville?
Oh one other question I have been dying to ask but just never had the time, why is the main page on your site and 3800performance somewhat similar? Is that graphic from Gm or did one of you guys copy the other?

I know you can spoof the O2 with a resistor too, but I can't find the post about it on Club GP. Mike Miller is the man you want to talk to though.

There are alot of sites sharing this info. I would just contact mike personally. I am sure some of the stores in that environment (Gp forum) didn’t want that info out.
