single muffler
i'm thinking about doing a single muffler on my ssei. like the way it'* done on a camaro or firedird, one muffler mounted in the middle turned sideways with tips coming out both sides, i figured with one muffler it would be chance for a small weight reduction. just not sure if theres enough room there to tuck a muffler up under the back due to the spare tire bump? and if i get a good muffler i guess there wouldn't be any power loss, maybe a slight increase in back pressure?

The single muffler setups are larger mufflers. All 92-99 SSE/SSEi'* here run that same camaro crossflow (transverse) muffler. Flow is not an issue. I can't imagine it saving much weight though, even if you did find room for it.
You may find that your twin pipes and smaller mufflers are a pretty close trade in weight to the crossflow muffler.

okay, after having a look under the car it would be prettyhard to mount a full sized tansverse muffler under the spare tire bump, it would sit too low, i like your idea of getting 2 smaller mufflers, that way they can be tucked up a little more, give it a cleaner look, thanks
