Is that the K&N RX4750 filter? If so, I had the first test-fit filter, before they ever went into production. I chose that filter to run vertically in order to clear the double washer tank, but it depends on the angle of the bend in the intake pipe.
I still have that very fist filter. Is it a collector'* item now?

well the first time i cleaned it it almost looked like it hadn't done anything, almost the same result from the second time, 3rd time looked like it was working and i did it once more for what i thought would be good measure. and there are chunks of gunk that i havn't been able to get out yet...

I was simply asking if that'* the filter, since he mentioned a fitment problem.

So, today is the day right? No, its not... :(
So i begin by removing the stock air intake...all fine 'n dandy there. Then i go grab the new one and begin my test fitting process.
Problem one, Reducer is too big . I ordered it from Silicone Intakes and apparently i ordered a 3.75" > 3.00" Reducer, maybes its my mistake, maybe its theirs, i looked on the website and found my recent order and it says I ordered the 3.75:" > 3.00" so...my bad...though i don't know why I would have done that because i know it was supposed to be 3.50" > 3.00" because i did a search and found it more than twice for that size. Anyway so i measured everything so I know for sure...and i came up with 3.25" > 3.00" as what I need. The 3.00" is the 'rice pipe', the problem side is the TB side of the reducer. I just emailed them to see if i can maybe return this one for another...so should i still get the 3.50" or go for the 3.25", i measured almost exactly 3.25" on the TB
Problem two, The Pipe was too long. Apparently at some point the Open Hood sensor was moved between '93 and '94...or maybe they are in a different place for an SE vs SSE. I see the difference in years the most likely reason. So either I cut the pipe 1-1/4" shorter, or i move the hood sensor. i am more comfortable with moving the hood sensor, but thats just me...though i thought some more about it and maybe i can turn the pipe angled down a little more and be fine...and there are some pretty thick plugs in the way underneath that, but i was able to move them out of the way and it look like im good to go without cutting or moving the hood sensor. I might move the hood sensor anyway, cuz i think it'll look funny there with the filter behind/under it, especially when i go to build the box around it...
I'm awaiting a response from silicone intakes, i wanted to have this project done this weekend...i assume they'll let me return it for another and i cover shipping...but it looks like it wont be. and next weekend is the Daytona 500, so...probably not gonna be done then either...
