Can't install trans cooler, do I need a special fitting???
I got the GM U-bend line that comes out of the radiator which will connect to one of the trans cooler hoses, but I can't fit the other hose onto the return line. For one, the original bolt on that line won't slide back due to the crimp in the return line that makes a sharp 90 degree bend. Secondly, I can't fit the other trans hose over the return line due to an insanely large bulge (crimp) at the end.
I'm getting pissed, been a month now I can't get this installed (only have the weekends free to work on my car). Is there another line I have to buy to replace the ENTIRE return line? Or is there another fitting? ANYTHING?
Those who have trans coolers or installed them, speak up.

I am confused as to what you are talking about. I can take some pictures of what I have done to make mine work if that will help you. I had to get a fitting kit from Autozone to get mine to work, but I used regular old rubber 3/8" hoses.

Please posts pics and I'll show you what I mean.
Basically, you know the line that comes from the trans to the radiator? Well I can't get a hose on there because of the bolt and the contours of the pipe. I need some adapter or new line.

It takes too long to link multiple images to here, so just go to the above page. I will answer any questions you might have.

Ok bud, look at the top pic of the link you posted...what is the fitting you used on the left side line (the one that comes up from below)?
Thats the one I'm having trouble with. If you could give me a general part description or even better a part number, that would rock. Thanks!

i just had my mom get it from autozone. Its description was something like GM fitting adapter or something like that. I think all the GM ones are the same. I threw away the box a long time ago, if I have time I can root through the trash tomorrow to see if I can find it.
