If your CAI is designed well it could benefit you. You NEED to keep your airflow laminar, especially if that screen is removed to ensure good MAF readings.
Give it a shot - you can always put it back in.

With your mods, I'd take it out if you are running well, without any KR. I'd monitor it after taking it out.

Read Techinfo. It depends on your intake design, and there'* an article on this subject already. Either way, don't remove it unless you own a scantool.
