Default Gutting the Airbox

There doesn't seem to be any "how-to'*" on this topic. A few people ask what it is and if they should gut it and I read you could also gut it so you can flip it back to normal but I was just wondering how to do it. Seems like a... free performance mod. I'll take all I can get .

What'* wrong with just removing the airbox altogether (stupid question?)?

well, there isnt anything necessarily wrong with it, but you would need to have some sort of filter before the air gets to the engine.

next time your in town, maybe we can work it out that ill help you gut it out.. there really is no going back to stock unless you were to buy a new airbox. thats where the FWI comes in handy, because then you can save your original airbox if you ever decide to go back to stock

Weren't you looking at an INTENSE package? If so, the FWI is the best way to go for you. Forget the stock airbox.

I don't know yet :( it'* really a tough decision. Visual mods are permanent, engine mods will be temporary. When my engine dies, I'll get a bigger one.

Am I missing something? If your engine is ok now, I'd think it should last a LOOONG time.

No you're not missing anything

What I meant was that the engine will eventually die so therefore any mods I make for the engine aren't permanent. And when my engine does eventually die it will be in about 10 years and I will want to get a different engine.
