Default ignition wires?

I noticed that you guys use Taylor wires in your cars . Then I heard you had some issues with them . I need some new wires for my car so I was wondering what you guys suggest.

MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor wires are awsome! I got the set that were premade for the gtp and they fit in nicely. These are definately my choice

Got them from summit racing for $55

I have had both Taylors and MSD on my car. They seem to be about the same. The Taylors we are thinking were just a bad batch (since everyone who got them got them around the same time).

Couple sets of wires you could get. Taylor 8mm, PRJ 10.4mm, or Belden 7mm (or larger I believe).

I personally suggest PRJ'* for insane overkill (YES, JOIN US). Some members have had trouble with Taylor wires, anyone have a conclusion on the findings?

Otherwise just stay clear of Bosch and you should be in the clear.

Yeah it would seem there'* a point of deminishing returns...is it possible that the added resistance from oversized wires actually degrades spark quality and that bigger isn't as good as "well matched"? hrm...that almost sounded like I know something on it, but honestly I don't I'm just asking

Like a too large exhaust diameter. I wonder if that is true. However, I don't know, I doubt it though if your ignition system is is good condition. IE your system doc

haha well even with mine I'm thinking I'll be happy with the 8.5'* its got...might experiment and see but I can't see ginormous wires on a stock or even mildly upgraded ignition being 'better.' I really have no idea though but you'd think everyone would just grab the 10mm instead of 'bothering' with 8.5'*....anyone? Buler?

The diameter listed is pretty much exclusive to the insulation, or outer jacket. The core could be tiny or large. And a larger conductor in the middle will have LESS resistance, not more, but only when comparing apples to apples.

If for instance, the wires had identically-designed copper cores, a 1mm core would have more restance than a 2mm core, but if they were both listed as 8mm wires, the 2mm core would have less unsulation to protect against shorts. Make sense?
