Bullet's 2007 Winter Projects
#173
No this thread is not dead.
I have just been busy with other things.
I now have Bump in my TransAm. 1000 watts of 10" Milar. I don't like it cause I can't hear the exhaust anymore. :(
Victor loves it.
The wheel well liner has not showed up yet.
The syphon kit for the Walbro Fuel pump from ZZP arrived yesterday.
It'* on the shelf with the pump right now......maybe it will be a Meet project.
I have the PowrTuner program working now but unfortuneately it won't read the INTENSE computer because it is not the original PCM and likely this core was pulled from a car other than an SSEi. It needs the correct code.
The spare PCM is the original SSEi PCM so I intend to swap it in and then try again. The only problem is the spare does not have the EGR delete or the 160 stat program......no biggey :P
I have run the car at idle for 20 minutes a few times and tuned the AFC connected to my MAF so my fuel trims are dead on.
The weather here has just been too wet, icy and salty to do any driving. :(
If things work out, I may be headed down to Oregon again soon to do some tuning and BoneEvil work.
Patience is a virtue Jarod.

Only had a couple of hours to spare today.
The rain stopped and the roads dried up. The salt was washed away. :P
So I fired up the Bonne after so long in the garage. Just couldn't wait any longer.
While it was still cold and in warm up mode the power was incredible. I didn't disconnect the wheel speed sensors so the wild spinning of rubber even with the traction off was subdued by torque management.
When it was finally warm.....it takes a full 20 minutes.....I was able to scan my fuel trims.
From cold to warm the LTFT when from -2 to +2 so I readjusted the MAF AFC to 93% from my initial cold adjustment of 92%. Now it runs with a LTFT of 0 when warm at cruise and -3 at WOT.
The actual conversion based on going from 36.5# to 42.5# injectors is 95% but I was already running rich and now with the fuel pump hot wire kit netting more fuel pressure it was even richer so I am an additional 2% lean.
When it'* warm I still get the part throttle KR up to 10 degrees when I stab it from 1500 to 3000 rpm.
Anyone have a clue as to how to adjust for this :?:
Sure was nice driving it again, even if it was only for an hour.

Yeah, I was going to suggest that link too TJ. I just found it yesterday. Not bad. Hey Paul, when you go WOT you should be at 0 too. -3 is actually bad and you are loosing power by being too rich. You should never be more than +/-1 when in WOT and locked into PE. That is the limitation to tuning with the afc. You have to do small changes in the actual MAF table using the tuner so that in the upper ranges of the MAF you are getting closer to that zero mark. What it looks like is that you are running fine in idle and cruise, but after you go over about 6K Hz in the MAF it is running rich and locks that into PE. Anyway, time to get rid of the afc and start using the PT.
Have you swapped in the old PCM then? I'll give you a DHP 1.5 starter file that will help take care of that part throttle KR. But you'll have to write over the existing file so swap in the old one first so you don't loose the Intense file.
