Brian,
I'm not talking about putting FE5 brakes under my car.
I was mentioning my FE5 suspension. No one had done it to a LeSabre before, so I was the guinea pig for the conversion. Now we know it works. I know the GXP brakes wont fit well under anything smaller than an 18".
I just want F Body, or some dual piston setup that will fit under the factory 16s. Even if I manage to cough up enough dough and win the lotto to get some bigger rims that arent complete garbage, the 16s would then be winter rims. So whatever I do, they have to fit under those.
And we are talking H Body upgrade, not W body. H body cars have 12" rotors stock, and the calipers with fins on them stick out further. So, bigger rotor diameter + larger calipers, with a 16" rim fits Bonnevilles, but not sure on a LeSabre. So, again, my LeSabre will be a test.
But I don't know what calipers people are using to do this.
I haven't heard of using 06 Impala parts....

Well i can say if you can bolt up F-body setup then impala'* will work with no bushings there the same as a F-body upgrade but cast instead of aluminum and both are dual piston not to mention the imp'* have the bleeder on the top were it should be!

Ok, so Impala calipers might work.
The big question is, will they work on H Body brackets?

Look, I'm gonna assume that GM wasn't too stupid, and made wheels that would fit on a LeSabre but not a Bonneville. They have to be almost exactly the same clearance. We are talking about GM here, the king of parts bin swaps and interchanging parts.
If someone has a link to some parts used in a Bonneville (2000+) swap over that works, I'm interested.
I don't understand what the shims would be used for, or where. But if that means not having to drill and tap a new set of brackets, that would be great.
If Impala calipers will fit H Body brackets, they don't look finned, so they might be a better choice.
When I did my FE5 swap, I followed a post on here (when it was BF) to make sure I got my part numbers right. I haven't found a post yet with part numbers to follow.
Anyone know???
I gotta replace the brakes ASAP, might as well upgrade while I'm doing it. But I have to do something about them pretty soon, since the right front caliper is sticking badly. :(

But will the brackets fit H Body knuckles? And over the factory 12" rotors? I have decent cryogenic treated rotors now with low miles. But id have to change the brackets, calipers, and get new pads, right? I could get the rotors turned smooth and re use them if they will work with that setup.
