i believe probably they are the same as 3.1 and 2.8, they were similar in some ways but none of those fwd ones have any performance market that i know of. the 60deg v-6 in rwd and 4wd have some upgrades, you can get a 3.4 crate engine and some goodies but i doubt any of it would easily fit a fwd

Yeah i was gonna go with a 3.8 supercharged with a 5speed, and i think that would make me happy, or im thinking of just doing the 5speed swap in a few months.i know it should all just bolt up and go, and i know the 3.8 has some decent upgrades

Good luck finding a FWD Getrag transmission for the 3.8. Those things are RARE.

Wish the RWD Corvette trans would mate to the L67.

That was my point Justin. If it DID mate to the L67, I would do everything I could to convert my Bonneville to RWD.

There are only 2 transmissions that will fit. The RARE 5 speed front wheel drive Getrag(GOOD LUCK FINDING ONE) and the Trans Am rear wheel drive transmission. Which you would have to convert your car to rear wheel drive to get it to work. So, your stuck with the regular 4 speed automatic.

IMHO. If your serious about modding that car of yours. Get rid of it. The performance mods(part upgrades) are none to non-existent. Your better off finding a 3800 car 1997 or newer. No tuner will touch 96 or older. And the performance parts for Series 2 are 100% better than any Series 1.

so its pretty much stuck with a car with no mods lol, looks like i got a great car here.
dont you have to fab and cut and frame for the back to fit a rear end?
Ive read some other people doing them to honda'* and some chevy cars, but they didnt get into detail much with them
