Hello. I recently purchased a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI. It has all the options besides disc changer.

I have quite a bit of questions about mods.

1. What exactly is a PCM tuner or computer tuner.
2. How much does one cost and where can you get it?
3. Is it easy to install
4. What are the horsepower gains?

SUPERCHARGER QUESTIONS

1. If your not looking to have alot of maintenace on your car, what size pulley do you reccommend for better performance but not have to worry about KR or any other problems?
2. How much would it cost to get a smaller pulley installed at a shop if you dont know how to do it yourself?

A PCM tuner would be software like HP tuner. This starts about $500. This is the software I use, and it'* well worth the price. Huge learning curve, so it will take a lot of work to get good at it.

No smaller then a 3.5" pulley

Each shop is different, you need a puller made for that job. That puller costs $100. Some members, myself included have a puller, and I don't change to change a pulley. Well, I charge a 6 pack of guinness.

You can count on 15 or so hp dropping to a 3.5"

HP tuner is on a computer. You just plug it in. What are you looking to do? There are some other options, but these can damage your engine if you don't know exactly what you are doing.

So if i bought a HP tuner, what do i plug it in into? And how can i damage the engine if i just plug it in?
How much horsepower are you lookin to gain and do you recommend it?

A tuner plugs in to your OBD2 plug under your dash. If you don't know what your doing you can run to lean, or have to much timing. This can do bad things like chip pistons, etc.

If your just looking to add a little more kick to the car, changing the supercharger pulley is a good start. Also installing a FWI helps. Upgrading the exhaust will help a lot as well.

Yes i would like to change the pulley, but i have no idea how to do it and im just curious on how much it would cost at a shop. If its only like 200 bucks to install id gladley do it.

For $200, you may as well buy a puller for $100, and a pulley for $50 and change it. Then sell the puller when done.

but u dont understand. Im not handy with engines really at all. Im just getting into them. Im 17. So i would prolly screw something up with the charger so i would just install it at a shop, do you know how much it would cost?

It will depend on the shop. It'* a 30 to 60 min job. Bottom line is, the shop will need a special puller made for that job. No other puller will work. Where are you located. There is always a chance another member is close by and could help you.
