Fan Override (Eliminates the CEL/SES problem)
Like many I performed the fan override on my 97 SSEi, only down side I noticed was the CEL would come on if I forgot to turn off the switch, turned off the car and restarted. The PCM checks the circuit and sees the grounding.
I thought about how to work around this problem of my forgetfulness.
Talking to friends I came up with a couple different possibilities.
1. Cut the wire from PCM to fan and put a diode inline. I'm not a fan of cutting factory wires.
2. Use a single relay, wiring to include a self latching and hooking the power to ignition. It would reset automatically when the car is turned off. Downside is you can't turn it off w/o turning the car off.
3. Using a momentary switch to turn the fans off and on. One push = on another push = off. There are two ways to follow this path, both involve a latching/unlatching circuit.
I chose #3, I want the ability to furn them off as well as on.
Gathered 6 relays and wired them per a website (I'll add link later) to put out a ground. Could have used 5 if I added two diodes, had plenty of relays sitting around after a junkyard trip. I have this together and it works great. I have an idea that I need to research further that would turn on a dash/cluster light when the fans were on.
I am going to build a circuit per another website that uses integrated circuitry to do the same. The only down side I see to this is electronics have a higher failure rate than relays. It'* not a high number though. Still need to gather the parts for this project.
I will be getting pics and links up soon, also want to gauge interest.

Here is the relay pack I made. It'* 6 in total and I've bench tested it. Works good.
I found a momentary switch, removed it from it'* previous home and added it into the seat switchpod. (Note: PACSWI hole right behind it)
Tomorrow the button and rest of switch pod will be painted the proper color.
I'm still tracking down the correct chip to make a IC version.
