The insulation idea, is interesting. Would I put this inside the enclosure? Maybe roll a piece and insert in around cone filter?
How does this stay in?

The instructions also see to use the insulation to fill the gaps between enclosure and radiator/fendor.
However, will this allow me to get enough air - especially on the SSEi?
I was under the impression that the bonnevilles didn't have as much airflow through fender wall or headlight.

Awesome! So I basically just "wrap" the CAI enclosure with insulation and secure it with insulation tape.

yet another run
I did another run tonight. The outside temps and intake temps where slightly cooler. The outside temps ranged from from 70F to 72F. The intake temps ranged from 79F to 120F.
I left the traction control on the whole time, and did not have the airconditioner on.
The KR at WOT ranged from 0 and less then 1 to a spike of 5 or so (at let off/upshift). However, there was never any knock sensed. The knocker sensor count stayed at 0 the entire time.
The KR would often decrease or at least fluctuate as RPM and bost increased.
Does that mean all this knock retard was PCM intervention for safety or to protect the tranmission ans engine?
Maybe my PCM is just being catuous based on what learned from before headers and rockers were put in?
Would the new DHP for bonnevilles fix this?
