Possible S1 L67 Into GM U-body (Pontiac Transport)
I"m new here so I hope I posted this in the correct forum. I've got a question regarding the possibility of a S1 L67 into a 1995 Pontiac transport. I"ve aquired this vehicle with a wrecked tranny. Specs
1995 Pontiac Transport
3.1L LG6 TBI V6
3T40 3 Speed Auto
Now these vans did have the option for the L27 with the 4T60E transmission
Is it possible to swap in a S1 L67 from a donor L67 car with transmission. Taking the PCM ect along with it.
I"m not too concerned with the cost of the swap becasue I got the van for free. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

yes your going to need to upgrade everything else most likely, fuel delivery, exhaust, etc. It be easyier just to swap axles and such while your at it.
Its going to take some work to make it 100% compatable.

Its nice to hear that it doesn't sound too horrible, the electronics are probably going to be the only hard part. I do have a friend At a GM dealership who is willing to help with any programming, IIRC these vans were based off OBD1

Yeah if your van is a 95 it very well could have that crappy OBD1.5...but that is actually irrelevant since that computer wont be able to control the L67. If your state does no vehicle or emissions inspections, I would try to find a 93 L67 setup, which is chip tunable. The 94-95'* have not had much success as far as chip tuning goes due to bastardised OBD they have. Or you can go 96+ and OBD2 if you can find them in the junkyards...and if you do, try to get it from a Grand Prix since they share the same platform as your Dustbuster, and the torque struts will already be on the engine.

Given I didn't have a L67, I was able to tune well with the hybrid pcm.
