Default all circumstances of false knock

i am getting some pretty serious knock after the car warms up... usually 2-4 degrees, but have seen spikes that are 8... then i know to drive home like a little school boy

the PEM'* are OH SO VERY SOON... but im trying to understand the knock first before i get rid of it

my exhaust leaks, BAD... im sure its from when my motor mount was bad, prolly detroyed the rear exhaust gasket and such...but once again.. im getting 0* until it warms up

i have seen the INTENSE Dynamat False Knock Elimination Kit and i wonder how this could happen

what other things can contribute... bad knock sensors?

Buring small amounts of oil will give you knock.
Once your car gets warmed up the oil gets thinner and makes it easier for it get past things like old LIM gaskets and valve seals.
The exhuast is a big maybe.
Maybe a vac leak or lean condition?
When the car is cold and AIT'* are low, your squirting more fuel. When the engine gets heat soaked and gets less fuel that could make it ping.

What are your knock sensors sealed with? As the block expands and contracts with heat, the sensors may become loose and rattle in their holes. Sealing them with silicone (black) may help if that'* an issue.

Your exhaust leaks will get worse as the exhaust warms up. That can cause it too.

Exhaust Leaks + bad engine mounts = Knock
With bad mounts, you do not have enough engine frequency dampening.

In the past, many times I have expressed the problems caused by header wrap. Just do a search.
