I picked my stuff up at Menards. You can make it any size and shape you want to fit the area. That whole box cost me less then $100 including the $45 filter. And about 2 hours of time.

The way you get better gas mileage now is that your incoming air is both turbulent and warm/hot. You get less air flow from turbulence, so you get less fuel, and the air that goes in doesn't need as much fuel because it'* warm and less dense than it ideally should be.

not that its relevant to this post but thats incorrect in theory i understand what your saying but its incorrect. the reason a cai gets you more power is that colder air has a lower enthalpy value at roughly 80 degrees airs enthalpy is about 128 btu/lbm and at 110 degrees its 135btu/lbm. So that being said a cai will easily drop your intake temp 30 degrees there by dropping your entropy 7btu/lbm because its easier to compress a colder working fluid.
since gas millage and performance are both offshoots from efficiency the more efficient your engine the more power potential and more fuel efficiency. just depends on how heavy your right foot becomes, but if you put a true cold air on ANY car and drive the exact same youll see at least 1+mpg increase trust me ive put intakes on 5 different cars this month all same results.
hope im not coming across as a or anything im an energy sys engineering student so this stuff is my life lol

as stupid as it may sound im not worried about the gas millage. Im just worried about preformance.

You're limited by it being 1/8" thick. You need thicker plexiglass, I think. Dan, how thick is your plexiglass?

I went with 1/8", the 1/4" plexi is way to expensive.
