Hushpower HP-2 Performance Mufflers - JEGS
What if i were to run this hushpower muffler in the middle of the car in place of the resonator and then run straight pipes through the back. What do you think? Any suggestions? I hear these sound good.

taking out your resonator is going to give you more noise from your exhaust, and maybe somewhat of a raspy sound, if you are looking for performance a resonator is as good as a straight pipe, get a maganflow cat if you want a little extra power and added sound and then maybe some magnaflow series 40 i think, someone else might know of some good mufflers

I liked straight through'* when I was younger But those are pricey for such. If your after loud and raspy, why not just throw down $30 a piece for Cherry bombs? I've woke up a few neighborhoods with them.

It'* a sraight through design, if you look inside you will see the other and same diameter throughout, it does have "slots" that absorbed/modify some of the sound. But as the site say'* "Shorty mufflers feature an 12'' case length and are recommended as an add-on resonator for exhaust systems with an existing muffler or for applications that do not have any sound restrictions." Hehehe.......

but im not looking at the shorty mufflers. Im looking at the actual muffler. There are 2 different kinds on there, the shorty and the standard. What do u think?

The "standard" is 6 inches longer yet same design. So maybe 1/3 less db. If you can apply linear thinking here Bottom line is these type mufflers have a much higher pitch raspy sound to them compared to the low rumbly sound of a flowmaster or magnaflow. Especially with the resonator out of the picture. I think the sound clip they provide is a very accurate sound of a "bullet type muffler". It'* really up to you how you want your car to sound. Low and debonair, or high and sassy
