Hey, thanx guys. I knew it had to be something dumb like that. I'm not really looking for any aftermarket reprogramming tools for my car specifically, just for the shop I'm gonna have some day. So the 97+ kit for all GM V6 cars from HP Tuners is what I was looking for. Just something to take full advantage of any custom modifications I may do. I'll keep ypu all posted on the place'* development when it materializes.

You got my hopes up, so I emailed Jet and got this response:
We only have a program for the non sc 3.8L. Nothing for the SSEI.
That 6-Pack system is the heat, with the valet mode and all. I wish there were a difinitive awnser to the "how can I chip my '96 supercharged Bonneville?"

Call intense and see if they can copy the stock PCM codes and edit them for a 96 ssei that you get from a junk yard and just do not touch the trans codes

DHP will code a PCM for you 1996 SSEi/SE and they will code one for you 1997 SE. Or better yet just get a Power Tuner - Just ask them...

Go for the powertuner if you're serious about modding. A custom PCM burn costs a little less but the powertuner also doubles as a scantool.

I have looked at this b/c I will be doing the same thing Chase is. The 96 and 97 pcms both have identical pinouts. The 96 wiring harness and pcm connectors are compatible with the 97 pcm. The only difference is the additional 8 wires for 4T65E control. The -60 and -65 sharesomecontrols and the wires are in the same pin location in 96 and 97. All that is needed is to splice in the -65 connector and add the necessary wires in a custom harness with pcm terminals added to the appropriate pin locations in the pcm connectors.
